KINGS MOUNTAIN BREAKS GROUND FOR NEW FACILITY
Sunday, March 6, 2008, marked a monumental day in the history of First Church of the Nazarene in Kings Mountain, NC, as the congregation held a special ground breaking service to celebrate the beginning of construction for their new church facilities. The church, under the leadership of Pastor Michael Daughrity, purchased 33 acres at 121 Countryside Road for the project that will include a new sanctuary and Sunday School facilities. Special guest speaker for the celebration was Dr. J. Mark Barnes, Church of the Nazarene District Superintendent for the state of North Carolina. Dr. Barnes delivered a beautiful and inspiring message about the endless possibilities the Lord could provide to meet the spiritual needs of the community thru the use of the new facilities. He also echoed the sentiments of Pastor Daughrity and the congregation that having larger, improved facilities will provide the unchurched with a place to worship and find a caring church home.
